01Specify the blend, not just the name
“Bamboo” is often used as a collection name, but the production specification should state the actual fibre composition. Ask for the proposed viscose, polyamide and elastane proportions rather than assuming the sock is made from a single fibre. Compare a physical sample with your preferred hand feel before approving a bulk order.
02Choose the right collection format
Decide whether the range is an everyday crew, business sock or shorter ankle style. Sock height, rib width, cuff tension and reinforcement change how the product feels in use. Include your shoe-size range and the intended footwear in the brief so these details can be considered together.
03Review washing and labelling
Review the sample both before and after washing according to its proposed care instructions. Record changes in dimensions, surface appearance and fit. Packaging should use the agreed fibre composition; claims such as antibacterial or certified should only be used when supported by evidence for the actual product.
Your project checklist
