01Check appearance and construction
Compare the sample with the approved artwork, colour reference and proposed construction. Look at logo placement, pattern alignment, toe finish, heel shape and cuff structure. Record comments with photographs and identify which sample version they refer to, especially when several rounds of development are involved.
02Check fit and dimensions
Use the agreed measuring method and try the sample with the intended footwear. Record the size tested, wearer feedback and any movement or pressure points. If washing is part of the approval, use the proposed care instructions and document both the original and post-wash measurements.
03Issue a clear approval decision
Separate “approved for production” from “approved subject to changes.” List every requested change and ask whether it requires another sample or a written specification update. Confirm packaging and labels as well as the sock itself. Production timing begins from the agreed approval point, so unresolved details should remain visible.
